Thanks To Sheena @ DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES BOARD for
this recap :)
The show starts by introducing us to the paper boy everybody hates Danny Farrell..... Susan Susan is getting her paper when she sees her ex Carl getting the paper in his robe at Edie's house. She goes to see him and tells him he is forbidden from seeing her again. Julie later tells Susan that Edie and Carl have been together for months now, tells her Carl asked Edie out on a date 6 months ago (the same time Carl had asked Susan to get back together with her). Susan calls Edie a proxyde vulture Mike goes to Susan's cuz she has his pants. He asks her where they stand now and Susan said "I don't know"..he asks if he should move on and she tells him she is crazy about him but maybe they can keep it casual...Mike asks "what the hell does that mean?" Susan says "movie, jogging, shopping" (as Mike keeps moving closer to her), he kisses her and she pushes him away and says "brunch" he says "sounds good to me" and leaves. Later on Susan sees Edie roller blading in a real skimpy outfit and Edie trying to ryb it in that she's with Carl and tells Susan to tell her what a bitch she is. Edie tells Susan that Carl told her when they had sex in the jacuzzi that it was the best sex he ever had and Susan tells Edie that Carl is still in love with her and drives away. When Susan was at a crosswalk, Edie caught up to her and told Susan that news was out that she and mike were over and roller blades away, Susan puts the car in reverse and hits Edie. (by accident) -That's how that story ended... Bree Phyllis (Rex's mom) and Bree are unning errands and things together and everyone is giving their condolenses. However Bree still has no emotion and Phyllis is crying to everyone telling them Rex was her world etc...Bree was getting very frustrated by this. At Bree's Phyllis was on the phone with the electrician crying and then told Bree he called for her but he had to go Bree tells her "Don't you ever worry about dehydration? even Italians take a break now and then" She tells Phyllis that she needs consolling too and Phyllis lets Bree know that she has been compressing her emotions to the point where people are wondering if Bree truly mourns Rex. Later..Phyllis and Bree were at a restaurant and Lynette shows up to offer her condolenses, the same thing happens, and Bree gets up and slaps Phyllis across the face Lynette left.... (We later see the doctor showing a PI Rex's letter "I understand and I forgive you") Bree was planting flowers and George shows up George tells Bree he wants to take her out to get her out of the house and she tells him she's not ready. She hugs him and sheds some tears with him..(Rex's mom looking out the window and sees them hugging) Later Bree gets ready and tells Phyllis she's going to a meeting regarding Rex's will and when Bree leaves, his mom calls the PI and tells him Bree has a boyfriend.... The Applewhite's We hear the person in the basement making lots of noise, shaking the chains etc... Matthew says "why is he doing that to us?" and yells down "knock it off" Betty says "don't talk to him, it's part of his punishment" Later Mrs.Applewhite is getting home and Susan goes up to her and asks if she's doing renovations because there is lots of noise coming from her place, Betty tells her that Matthew is quite handy and always doing things that she doesn't even realize the noise anymore...Matthew then walks right past them arriving home, and says "Hi Mrs.Meyer" and then Betty said "It was nice chatting with you" Susan knows something is fishy.... Later Betty was talking with a doctor and we find out she was abused a few years into her marriage, he started by slapping her and then he'd apologize. One day her son spilled soda on the carpet and her husband beat him to death before she could stop it. The doctor tells her "I hope he was punished for his actions" and she says "there was retribution, I made sure of that" But is this true??? Gabby Carlos took Gabby's access to their account away. She asked "why are all rich men jerks?" and he said "same reason all beautiful women are bitches" Carlos later tells Gabby that needs to bring 7000$ to an inmates girlfriend or he will get beat up. Gabby arrives at girlfriends house (Rita Rivera) and gives her the money and explaind the story. Rita throws the money down and says "son of a bitch"..turns out her boyfriend wants her to get a boob job (she already has huge ones) or he'll leave her. Gabby convinces her to stand up to her man and not get surgery if she likes her body so Gabby takes the money back. Gabby goes back to the prison to visit Carlos and he was all beat up. Tells Gabby to go back and tell Rita to get "jugs the size of Texas" if she has to to save his ass. Gabby blackmails him and says she'll need to have access back to their account again. Smart woman I tell ya....LOL Lynette Not much on the Tom/Lynette front. Lynette was always home to a messy house, very dirty, nothing done. Tom explained he had a system and it was wrking fine. Lynette got pissed, they argued in bed because he hadn't changed the sheets after the baby spat up etc... and it was all about Lynette trying to get tom to keep the house clean. Nothing too exciting...a little funny but that's about it. The show ends with Mary Alice saying "Control....it's extraordinary the tactics people employ to obtain it (shows Betty making the tray) Some rely on deception (shows Matthew taking the gun) While others engage in outright trickery (shows Tom cleaning) then there are those who resort to extortion (Gabby signing a bunch of checks) why do we fight so hard for control? because we know to lose it is to put our fate in the hand of others (agent snapping pics of Bree with George) in what could be more dangerous. Gabrielle brings cash to a woman in a bad neighborhood, which she ultimately holds on to herself. Lynette settles in at her job, and is being pitched an ad campaign by two young writers. Also, Rex's mother (guest star Shirley Knight) drops by to Wisteria Lane after the funeral and annoys Bree, as she is crying all the time in the restaurant and at the drycleaner.
