Desperate Housewives Online started life as a geocities website in March 2005 serving the purpose of hosting some caps taken from Episode 15 to show members of Digital Spy's forum what was coming up in the show. The thread that all started it is still active today and can be found here. The upcoming caps for each episode became a regular thing each week so the site was moved to a new host, Lycos. The site quickly expanded with the Cast & Crew page and User Theories, mainly coming from ideas from the members of the thread at Digital Spy. Each week progressed and the episode gallery's became bigger and bigger and the site moved to another new host, NTL, where it stays today. More recent addition include the Media and Quotes page which came about from a suggestion from a Digital Spy user.
In 2006, to coincide with Series 2 starting
in the UK, the site got a new make over and logo which unfortunately wasn't
well received so another new change took place nearing the end of Season 2
in April 2006. A further change took place in December 2006 which has stuck
so far!
In early 2007, a sister site was created for the hit TV show 24 at
http://www.24online.org.uk in the same style at DHO and was an instant
success.

Desperate Housewives Online comprises of 60 unique websites which consists of just over 1700 exclusive images. The site currently now stands strong with a total of nearing 220,000 hits to date, an average of about 1500 daily.
